Facials are an essential part of your monthly skincare routine, but every facial is different. Some facials are primarily for clearing acne, while others increase hydration. An anti-aging facial is designed to address the natural signs of aging in the skin as we get older.

Our Anti-Aging Facials

At our medspa, we provide patients with a wide variety of facials, including peels and effective treatments like microdermabrasion. Here are a couple of our fave anti-aging facials.

Fire & Ice Facial

The Fire & Ice Facial is a clinical laser facial that only professionals can perform. This intensive treatment is formulated with some of the purest pharmaceutical ingredients designed to effectively resurface the skin, refine signs of aging, and rejuvenate the skin. Treating fine lines and wrinkles, the Fire & Ice anti-aging facial combines two treatments. 

Like most facials, the first step is to cleanse the skin. After applying the Gentle Cleansing Complex, it is then removed with a warm, damp towel. This step prepares the skin by cleaning off any products, oils, and dirt clogging the pores. Once the skin is clean, the Intensive Resurfacing Masque is applied, which is composed of sugarcane extracts, vitamin A & B3, and other ingredients that soothe, nourish and hydrate your skin. 

This is where the “fire and ice” part comes in—the initial mask is the ‘fire’ as it will feel quite warm and tingly on your skin. Depending on how long you can tolerate the sensation, the mask will stay on your skin for about three to five minutes. Your aesthetician will then reapply the Cleansing Complex to neutralize this intense mask, and then a cold, damp towel will remove the cleanser, revealing noticeably softer skin.

If your skin has any whiteheads, blackheads, or other impurities, your aesthetician will perform minor extractions. The Rejuvenating Masque is then massaged onto the skin to replenish your skin barrier and lock in moisture. More “ice” is used through frozen cooling globes to massage the hydrating mask and relax your skin. 

After removing the Rejuvenating Masque with a warm damp towel, your aesthetician applies the Clinical Youth Eye Complex around the eyes for a bright and fresh look followed by 3-5 drops of the Clinical Pro-Heal Serum Advance to aid in fast recovery. Clinical Hydra-Cool Serum is applied next as it helps repair and rehydrates the skin, and finally, the facial is finished with SPF 50+ to protect your skin against harmful UV rays.

While the Fire & Ice Facial is an effective treatment, it is so intensive that it can sensitize your skin and make it more vulnerable to UV rays. Remember to be diligent with SPF every day, reapplying multiple times a day and staying out of the sun as much as possible. 

Preparing Your Skin

Because this facial is resurfacing and refining, there are specific measures you should take before you have this treatment done. 

• Avoid waxing or any other laser treatments on your face for about 48 hours before the treatment.
• Stop using any skincare products that contain vitamin A (e.g. retinol), glycolic acid, or any other exfoliating/resurfacing ingredients at least three days before the treatment.
• Tell your dermatologist or aesthetician about any medications you’re taking, as certain meds should not be used alongside this facial.
• Inform your dermatologist if you are pregnant before scheduling a facial.
• Consult with your dermatologist about any skin conditions you may have before the facial, as some are not suited for this treatment.
